An Evening of Serious Whimsy

An Evening of Serious Whimsy is an innovative program inspired by the artists Jimmy Kuehnle and Mimi Kato and their exhibits Wow Pop Bliss and Ordinary Sagas. Composed and performed by musicians known for their work with Spark Collective, the program explores unexpected and playful ways of addressing important issues, as well as connecting aspects of the visual arts (color, texture, spatial relationships) with those of music composition and performance. Performance at 8pm.

After the performance, party down on the Plaza (or in the Keuhnle-inspired Dance Bubble!) with tunes from local DJs. Manipulate your own local scenery in a Kato-inspired immersive photo backdrop with props and fashion help from O.P.T. Collective. Enjoy these amazing summer exhibitions for the last time in Columbia! Food trucks in attendance. Beer, wine, and sake available for purchase.
